MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Shri Navnitbhai Shah - Chairman

Shri

Navnitbhai Shah

Chairman

ASHAPURA FOUNDATION was established about 10 years ago especially to do Social work in the villages of Kutch Region of Gujarat State (Western India).

I am pleased to narrate here the purpose of work so far done or not done. Most of the work was carried out by Shri Tushar Dedhia and other staff members. During this period we have carried out many activities.

Our Kutch district is one of the most backward areas of India because of historical reasons; these districts were ruled by Maharaos for centuries. The literacy rate was so low and until people can understand what we want to do for them, it is very difficult to get their co-operation. We believe that this work is for the people of Kutch but our belief is not enough. We have to make our people to believe that we are especially backward in the matter of Health Education. Socially, the biggest problem for Kutch District is Water and with the help of Central Government and State Government of Gujarat, we have completed 10 Water Sheds.

Progress: Frankly speaking it is not up to my satisfaction. I want to do much more work and our team which is led by Shri Tushar Dedhia also wants to do more and more work to accomplish our goal of serving the people of Kutch District in a more meaning full way.

The well wishers who are reading this report may kindly send their valued suggestions, as to how we can accomplish our mission.

NAVNITBHAI SHAH
(CHAIRMAN OF BOARD OF TRUSTEE)
