Employment - Empowerment of the people particularly the down - trodden

A great deal of man power is required to perform different progressive social activities in villages and the surrounding areas. Therefore, the people of those villages are given preference to work for, so that they can get employment and can be self reliant.

For example, to dig one Staggered Trench, a person is paid INR 8.00 for it. A person can dig about 8 Staggered Trenches in a day. This way a single person can get the remuneration of INR 64.00 per day.

Loose Boulder is an arrangement to stop the flowing water by creating a restraining wall, in which big dry boulders are placed one above the top of the other. This work is carried out by local people and they are paid INR 170.00 per every cubic meter of this Loose Boulder.

Check Dam is constructed using cement and concrete. To construct such dam masons and labours are required. They are arranged from the near by village and they get good wages for that.

In the making of Storage Tank basic digging work is done by the machines, whereas slope tracing and pitching work are performed by the labours. Similarly in the arrangement of Bori Bandh, bag filling work and bag arrangement works are performed by the labours, which are arranged locally from the near by village.

In short, Ashapura Foundation has created 185,000 man days of employment for the villagers at their door step disbursing wages of INR 15 million.
